What Morrowell knows about you.

The short version

Morrowell has no account and no sign-up. Your profile (weight and sex) and your drink log are stored only on your device. Nothing is sent to HonestDev, to an account service, or to any analytics or advertising service.

The app contains no third-party SDKs that collect data. We hold no personal data about people who use the app.

Who we are

Morrowell is made by Thomas Oomens, trading as HonestDev, based in the Netherlands. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), HonestDev is the controller for the limited personal data described on this page. Contact: [email protected].

The app

• Stored on your device. Your weight, sex, logged drinks and settings are stored only on your device. They are used to calculate the estimates you see in the app.
• Nothing leaves the app. We do not receive your profile or your drink log, and the app does not send them to any server.
• No tracking. There is no analytics, no advertising and no crash-reporting service inside the app, and no third-party SDK that collects data.
• Apple Health. In this version the app does not read from or write to Apple Health.
• Deleting your data. Because the data lives on your device, you can remove it by deleting the app.

The App Store and Google Play collect their own information when you download or update an app. That is governed by Apple's and Google's own privacy policies, not this one.

Device backups

Your device may include app data in its backups, such as iCloud Backup on iPhone or Google backup on Android. Whether that happens, and how the backup is stored and protected, is controlled by your own operating system settings and your Apple or Google account. HonestDev has no access to those backups. You can change or turn off backups in your device settings.

This website

• No analytics, no advertising. This website does not run analytics or advertising trackers, and it does not embed third-party tracking scripts.
• Preferences. The site may store your language and appearance preference in your browser (a small cookie or local storage entry). It is used only to show the site the way you chose, and it is not used to identify or follow you.
• Server logs. Like any website, the server that delivers this site can process standard technical request information, such as IP address, requested page, time and browser type, in order to serve pages and keep the site secure. We do not use it to profile visitors.
• Fonts. Fonts are served from this site, so your browser does not contact Google Fonts when you visit.

Email

If you email [email protected], we receive your address and whatever you write. We use it to reply, and keep the conversation only as long as it is useful for that purpose. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your question. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct, delete, restrict or export the personal data we hold about you, and you can object to how it is used. Because the app keeps your data on your device, we normally hold nothing about you beyond any email you have sent us. You can look at and delete your app data yourself on your device.

To make a request, email [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or to the authority in your own country.

Age

Morrowell is meant for adults who are of legal drinking age where they live. It is not intended for anyone younger, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this page changes in a meaningful way, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. If the app ever starts collecting data, this page will change first and the app will tell you.
